Running a business in the modern world is not that easy, especially for concrete pumping company in Melbourne. In fact, for a lot of businesses they will find it is very difficult to do and at times impossible. This is when people should know how online marketing is going to help their business grow to new levels, but also how it is going to make it possible for the business to continue to grow to the levels they would never suspect the business to reach before.
Reach is one of the most important aspects for people to consider. Generally with a small business, they are going to have a limited reach to the customers. So they will not be able to get to the customers they need to reach for the growth. However, when the business starts marketing online they are going to notice they will be able to reach out to more people who can help make sales, but also expand the brand.
Increased revenue chances are something else the business is going to enjoy. While it was touched upon before, with the potential for more sales, people will notice when they are increasing their reach outside of their local area. With that increase in reach, it finally means people can get to the different customer base and this can help them in getting to make sales to new customers and not have to rely on returning customers all the time.
Potential to be noticed by travelers is something else the Internet and online marketing will help a business out with. While businesses always are going to try to get more customers in, travelers are a great way to generate extra income without having to do a lot of extra legwork. By increasing the presence on the Internet, it is easier for people to get the return on their investment, but also know that visitors to the region will have a chance to find the business.
While a lot of smaller businesses know the Internet is key to their survival, they do not realize how much online marketing can do for their business, this is true too for a Melbourne based pump company. By knowing some of these factors it will be easy for the business to start to reach the level they need to and know it is because of the effort they put forth for the online marketing. Then the small businesses can finally flourish, instead of struggling like they used to do.

Ok, so I like to keep these topics varied, one day it’ll be websites the next day it’ll be health tip like the water thing. I like to call this blog a multi-blog! The swiss army knife of blogs! And really anything that happens to be passing through my mind.
The first rhetorical question I want to ask you is, have you ever watered a plant and watch it grow. That’s a long rhetorical question but the point is that if you water a plant regularly it will certainly grow a lot better than when you don’t. When the soil is nice and moist the plant’s leaves are a deeper green, the soil gets a good ecosystem happening in there and new leaves will constantly sprout. When the soil is dry and a light brown color, the plant won’t grow any new appendages, it’ll start to shrivel and overall it’ll look like a dried up plant shape sponge.
So my point is if the presence of water is of effective towards plants, what makes you think humans are any different. Put it this way, a human body is made up of 60% water, so doesn’t it make sense to stock up on it?
I think when a human is well hydrated you can get a lot of positive effects. For example skin clarity, you’ll have fewer pimples and blemishes and your face will generally look a lot more radiant. The extra water will flush out any toxins in your body quicker, like of you’ve been drinking or taking some naughty substances. This can also have an effect on how your feet and armpits smell. With fewer toxins in your body, your sweat will smell less bad (NB: it does not mean that your sweat will smell good it will still be a negative smell just a less negative smell than usual).
If you look up the evolutionary chain we can it shows that we are related to plants through many years of evolution, so if they are benefited so much with copious amounts of water should we?
Now I’m not saying that this will work for everyone. As you know everyone is different and no one is average, so I would recommend trying this but through a series of experiments. Try drinking 1L more of water a day for a month and see how you feel. If it goes well step it up, if it goes badly cut down a little. Make an evolutionarily stable strategy just like Richard Dawkins says in his book called The Selfish Gene.
Now you will have to go to the toilet a few more times a day with all the extra water but notice the color of your urine. With more water it’ll start to become clearer.
A tip to keep you drinking that H2O is to get a large drink bottle I’m talking about a really big one, like 2L big. It’s a good visual queue to show you your consumption in real time. I’m sure there’s an iPhone app that will send you reminders or a Mac app that does the same for your laptop or notebook.
So there you have it, try it out and see if it makes you feel any better. If you don’t fell better send me a comment, if you don’t, also send me a comment. I try and keep these posts to around 600 words so they’re readable in one sitting so that’s all for me!
So as our site comes into fruition and is reborn into a new existence it becomes hard as a newbie website to be found. If you search around in your topic you’ll find that your website doesn’t even show up in google. And sometimes right at the beginning, it’ll take ages for your site to even become indexed (keep reading and I’ll give you a few tips on how to do that).
So let’s start at the beginning if you want your website to be indexed what can you do? Well, #1 is don’t panic and #2 is send a request for your website to be indexed.
The quick and easy way to do it is to go to the google request to be index page here. Once you’ve submitted your link to Google it doesn’t mean that it’ll be index straight away, it means that it’s been put into a queue (I’m assuming it’s a really big queue too) to be POTENTIALLY indexed. So it may not even be indexed at all! So for in my experience of using it, it’s always been indexed.
The other option is to sign up for google’s webmaster tools. The process will take a little longer than the first one I mentioned but after it has a lot of extra benefits. So I’ll list out a few here right now just to entice you a little to do that little bit of extra leg work.
So for starters, it will show you all the site that are linking to you, and know how valuable that is right? If there are a lot of site linking to you it’ll increase your domains authority, and the higher the domain authority is the higher your google rankings will be (NB: there are a lot of other factors that contribute to high ranking so don’t get too excited and try to make every website in the world link to you.
Secondly, it’ll show you a lot of cool analytics about your website like what searches it ranks for and how many clicks you are getting from those searches. Effectively it’ll show you who your target audience is and the main way that people come to find your website. This is particularly advantageous as you’ll see what topic people are searching for to find your website.
Okay so there are a lot more advantages of using the google webmaster tools but I’ll leave it up to the very shrewd website owner to read up on it, perhaps a good starting point is the Wikipedia article.
So to get your website indexed with the webmaster tools, which is also referred to as the google search console, you can upload a sitemap. Now I know what your thinking or asking, so where do I get an XML sitemap to upload to google search console? Well if you’ve got a WordPress site, I’ve got you covered.
Download the Yoast SEO plugin and activate it, once you’ve done that you’re practically ready to go. Click on the XML Sitemaps option and it’ll show you a link where you sitemap is located. Copy that link and paste it into the webmaster tool in the XML Sitemap section, and voila. But again this does not mean that your website will instantaneously be indexed by Google, it means that it’ll go into a queue for it to be index. So essentially it’ll just prioritise it for indexing.
A little tip too is that if you are getting your site indexed, make sure that you’ve got through your robots.txt files and specifying what pages you want to be indexed and which ones you don’t. You can also set which pages carry the follow or nofollow attribute. A word of caution, though, if you’ve set a page to nofollow and you’ve got links on that page that lead to more internal pages of your website those ones may not be found (of course unless you’ve got them in your XML sitemap file.
Now all this stuff can be a lot of work that’s why I got some hearty Brisbane SEO guys on the job. These dudes at AKAP helped make my site and other sites rank really well in Google. I heard about them through a friend and thought that I’d give them a go. Their price is a little high but in the end, it’s bloody worth it for what they did.
In reading about SEO companies, there are a lot out there and there are a lot out there that don’t know what they are doing, a lot of horror stories out there of people getting ripped off by some chump business who ended up causing more harm to their website than good. So take this as a word of caution and check these guys out. If you do decide to go with someone else, make sure that you get a referral of a client of theirs to make sure you know they can do the job.
I’ve done a little research recently looking into a few SEO agencies. Let me tell you right now that some of them are just pure spam! I’ve looked at a few link aggregator tools and found some of the “link building” they’ve done and quite frankly is horrendous. I didn’t spend too much time looking into these guys in details but from a glance, it certainly looks like they’re getting outsourced help, a lot of the wording is not even correct. And on a few a the layout wasn’t even there. It looked like someone just posted a giant single line of HTML. I won’t post any links, as I don’t want to embarrass anyone.
Here’s a quick video for those who have no clue how SEO works.
Okay, that’s it for me. It turned out to be a bigger post that I thought it would be, but a good way to open the site up and get those brains of your churning. As I always like to say, a book a day keeps the doctor away. 🙂 (here’s a good list of books to read)
Hope you like the article as much as this girl likes being stuck in traffic.
P.S. I mentioned nofollow links a few times, if you don’t know what nofollow links are, click here to learn!

So as a brand new website this will be the first official post, hope you like it and continue to subscribe and, of course, click back again and again.
As a new website, which of course took me a while to make and get published, as well as the time required to get the expertise to create a website (to be honest, it didn’t take that long). Well, what I’m trying to say that is it takes effort to do, some might even call the process arduous, and then wonder if it’s worth it.
So to cut to the chase and get my opinion out the answer is yes, it is worth it. You can use web 2.0 sites to get a page up real quick and simple and, of course, add all of your personal information or business information which is great. But! It only gives you a limited space to fill in, limited categories to fill in and limited character count and limited layout options and limited… well, you get the point.
When someone looks at your own personal website it can give you or your business an additional boost of identity. People like to know about who they are dealing with and a personal website can help express that in more than just a Facebook page.
I’m not saying that the facebook page is useless, it most certainly isn’t. I’d recommend that you get a Facebook page and your own website. And then, why stop there, keep going with the social profiles and make as many of them as you possibly can, Pinterest, Twitter, about.me, and any social profile that fits into your niche.
When you get a lot more profiles in can help you online reputation grow at a faster rate. With every customer, you don’t know what is their favorite social site to browse, so the idea is to cover all bases and create as many as possible. Unfortunately, for this site, I haven’t quite been doing what preach. My social profiles are a little low but in saying that there is still time (and this website is new, please cut me some slack)!
A staple in creating websites is WordPress, which is pretty darn simple to use. Perhaps not as easy to use as Wix or Squarespace but still good (I’ll get into those two variations soon). WordPress you only need to know a little about how to setup a domain and navigate a cPanel. But never fear the internet is here to help you, there are a million videos on how to set up a website. I think you should take advantage of them, watch them and learn from them. Remember as Tony Robbins says in his husky voice, TAKE ACTION NOW!
So for Wix and Squarespace I’m going to lump them into one category, the category of an online point and click web page builder. They’re really easy to use and some of the themes they come with by default are pretty good, pretty slick ones too. And to populate it with your own content doesn’t take too much messing around. Although the pitfall is that it’s a little bit more expensive than buying hosting and a domain name (as WordPress is free). But really it’s not that much more.
You can build them for free and would get a subdomain of Wix and they’ll be ads. But for free you can’t really argue. (did you know free is the most googled word in the dictionary?)
Another positive about Wix and Squarespace is that it’s relatively simple to get an e-commerce site up and running and they have awesome plugins to help with credit card processing. You can use Stripe which honestly, they couldn’t have made it easier to use.
Now I’m not going to reinvent the wheel here and spend my whole night going through exactly how to create your own website. There are thousands of other publications that probably do it better than myself. Not to mention the countless and countless amounts of youtube video out there. Like for example this is a good one, look at the view count, over two million!!
You can always contact me if you have any questions about web design, I’m here to help (nor am I scary)!
Okay, I’m signing out for now. Catcha on the flip side.
Who knew that Shark River Hills was an actual place!? Well, none the less I’m still going to flesh this site out and post whatever the heck I want to. Keep an eye on this page and be amused by my inner musings and how they take shape on the internet.
I promised a couple of people that I’d do a little feature about their website. You know what they say you gotta give to receive. Pay it forward!
